Socom 4 Announced

The long awaited sequel to the popular SOCOM franchise has finally been announced for the PS3. Yes i know SOCOM confrontation is a sequel but not by the original developers.

SOCOM 4 promises to be all that confrontation should have been and more. If they manage to recreate what they had on PlayStation 2 they will bring a truly great game to the PS3.

SOCOM 3 - PS3 Move Compatible

PS3 Move To Be Used In SOCOM 4

PS3 Move Compatible

Wait…. but that’s not all, SOCOM 4 will have motion control support! The previously hardcore online shooter has been made to support the new controls. With what looks like the Wii nun-chuck and the PS3 move wand the user will be able to run around with the nun-chuck and aim with the wand.

The die hard SOCOM fans need not worry though, Sony has confirmed that you will be able to use your Dualshock as well.

PS3 Move – Sony Announce Playstation Motion Controller

PS3 Move Handheld ControllerWelcome to the one stop shop for PS3 Move

Recently Sony announced their new motion sensing controller for the PS3. With a little help from the Playstation Eye the motion controller gives the user the most accurate motion experience available on any console to date.

So what makes it different from the wii?

Well good question, not only is the controller hopefully going to give the user a more accurate feel, it will have the PS3 HD graphics, something that nobody can say the Wii is better at than the PS3.

its not enough for the PS3 to have a better contoller and better graphics though, and Sony know this. Thats why they have not only announced the obvious games like table tennins and gold, they are planning on adding the motion controls to some of the more hardcore games. SOCOM 4 has been announced and is known as a more hardcore gamers game, however the game supports motion sensing controls. (video to be added).

On top of the new games sony has also announced plans to add the controls to games already out, namely the brilliant little big planet.

So what do you think? Will the PS3 Move convert the Wii fanbase who are looking for more depth
